Leaflet
Christmas is fast approaching (less than 100 days to go!). We
would like to produce a Christmas leaflet/ card for distribution
in the Parish, inviting our neighbours to our celebrations and
would like YOU to design the picture for the front cover. Please
submit your designs to the Church Office by half term.

Chamber Orchestra Concerts
St. Nicholas Church. 22 November. 3pm: Kids Classics Teddy and
Hat Concert—bring a teddy and wear a fabulous hat! 7pm:
Oscar Wilde’s ‘The Selfish Giant’ for adults
and older children. Tickets £5 for 3pm Concert, £10

Needed
St John’s is in need of an Electoral Roll Officer, a Cathedral
Liaison Officer and a Parish Information Officer .
The Electoral roll officers job is a PCC appointment
and a parish wide job.
The Cathedral Liaison Officer would liaise with Coventry Cathedral
and promote events happening at the Cathedral and in the Diocese.
The Parish Information Officer’s job involves liaising
with the Diocese and local press etc. about promoting the church
in the local community and local papers etc. Anyone interested
should contact Phil or Nigel to find out more.
TWAM
Is in need of the following items: 500gm empty (and clean) margarine
pots (we pack screws and nails in them for our carpenters kits),
thimbles & clean tape measures (urgently required)
empty eye drop plastic bottles (the small soft sort) - we fill
these with sewing machine oil. Please put any donations in the

Ethiopia
It’s been 25 years since Michael Buerk’s groundbreaking
reports from Ethiopia which drew attention to a generation of
devastation caused by the famine of 1984. Archbishop John Sentamu
is asking Churches to support Twenty5 and raise money to help
give children a family, an education and the skills to earn
a living in Ethiopia. For details of how you can be involved,
please see http://www.twenty5ethiopia.org/pack.htm. Maybe we
could use Christmas activities as an opportunity to raise funds
for this project. Please speak to Nigel, Phil or Denise if this
is something you’d like to do
Disaster

Blush Christmas Evening
Blush UK will be performing a gig similar to last year’s
in the Church Hall on Saturday December 5th. More details to
follow, but please keep the date in your diary.
Oxfam
The Oxfam shop in Abbey End is desperately in need of volunteers
to avoid closure of the shop. If you are interested in helping
out between 10am and 4pm, please contact Anne on 856135
Cold
Weather
As winter approaches, please dress appropriately for the temperature
as we are still seeking to reduce our Carbon footprint and become
better stewards of the resources God has given us.
